2020 WAS A YEAR TO LIVE ART

For Gimnasio los Andes, developing our student’s creativity is as important as learning English or mathematics.

Art connects them with their emotions, with innovation, with wonder. It builds bridges with others by co-creating together or learning to receive constructive criticism.

Art is a path of self-discovery and world transformation.

In 2020 our students developed many art projects, both at home and at school.

They created theater pieces, they danced, they took photographs, they painted. And with each work, they made this world a better place to live in.

We invite you to explore Art in Power and feel the intensity of art in all its expression.

OUR PROJECTS

QUARANTINE ART MACHINE

While going through one of the biggest challenges in our history, we found new ways to reinvent ourselves by joining together in a collaborative way to give shape to the First Virtual Arts Festival by Gimnasio los Andes. Together in the distance but being in the same place allowed us to recreate and express the emotions and experiences lived at home during the quarantine.

ART BEYOND THE MASK

It is an artistic project that reminds us that behind every word spoken, every movement, every image, there is always a chorus, a group, a society of multiple voices, sounds, movements and expressions that emerge in the most difficult moments. Interaction with others is always far beyond circumstances.

OUR PUBLICATIONS

«Historias escritas con palabras de paz» and «La luz de las sombras» are two literary works created by our students in the creative writing project of the theater class at Gimnasio los Andes. These texts present fourteen works through which our young students showed us that ideas are an excellent path to contribute to the creation of a culture of peace.
